Objective
Re-test the 1981 cable-run hypothesis with instrumentation that did not exist then.
Result
NEGATIVE. The period does not appear under forced microphonic excitation. It also does not appear under quiet conditions during the test window.
Learned
Absence of a convenient mechanism is not evidence of impossibility. It is evidence that we still do not have one.
